DiResta Samurai “Joinery” Step Stool Challenge
For this woodworking project, Jesse AKA “The Samurai Carpenter,” challenged me to make his through tenon step stool… as many of you know, this is not a typical joinery project for me, so it actually was a challenge to build. The wood that I used for this step stool was rough-cut hard maple, and spalting that I got from a sawmill. It was a very stringy wood, that didn’t cut or chisel very easily, and you’ll notice that I try to cut the joinery for this project a few different ways. It turns out that the drilled hole was the way to go! I didn’t follow the plans exactly, as I prefer a more primitive look. I hope that you enjoy this joinery challenge from The Samurai Carpenter.
